Well I have the app version for the iPad and I find it to be a little differently setup from the iMac.

Same here. There are some people who prefer the iOS version of GarageBand, but I certainly feel like it is limited in comparison to the traditional desktop interface.

Yeah, I'd expect the desktop version to probably be more capable. However, if you have a bluetooth keyboard & mouse, a tablet can be pretty much similar to a laptop, and I could see the iOS verison of Grage Band being potentially the same as the desktop version if they developed it that way.

I totally agree with you. I have an iPad Pro 12.9, pre-M1 (so the last A-Series chip that Apple produced before its new Silicon), with separate Magic Keyboard and Trackpad, and with Bluetooth connectivity, I'm able to do pretty much everything I want on the iPad. Sometimes, I do most of my work, email, playing retro-DOS games on iDOS 2, and most recently, Telnetting/SSH'ing into BBS'es using Termius. It's fantastic!

You have a 12.9? Wow. Apple removed iDOS2 from the App Store and I've used Termius before.
Yes. iDOS2 was stellar, and I encourage anyone who can to side-load it onto their iPads. It is a game-changer for my use of the iPad for gaming, and being able to load thousands of DOS games onto it is an absolute delight.
Other than Termius, is there something you've used on your iPad to telnet or SSH onto BBS'es?

Can you run 16 bit dos bbses on iDOS2?

No, unfortunately. The developer, litchie, stopped trying to break into the Apple iOS communication subroutines. So all of the Networking stuff on this fork of DOSbox is non-functional.

Do you use any of the loops that are provided with GarageBand?

I do! I download the Producer packs and use those in compositions. They are a lot of fun. There was a Dua Lipa and a Lady Gaga limited edition loop set (maybe it's still available? not sure), and I use some of those bass loops and guitar solos. They're great!

That's too bad. Oh well. :-(

I do! I find that the provided loops with tempo and key signature control make it very easy to create compositions.

Do you have a particular set of loops that you like or do you just pick randomly?

I try to select the same thematic set. If I am doing some world music, I like to start with some percussive and orchestral loops. If I am working on something dance/pop-like, I add a bunch of electronica.
