I'm new to BBSes and been wondering how many people are still
using them. I'm too young to have used them in their prime, so
I am happy theres still a community who maintains them.

The Sysops do (obviously), but there are several users. There are
a few dial-up BBS's left, but most have migrated over to telnet.

you know you can delete your posts as a sysop

last week I was having issues posting a message on fidonet, and I hit the keys to upload a file as the text body.

befor I knew it I somehow sent the message. I went in and attempted to delete it. I haven't checked if it was sent out to all nodes. It was the HAM sub.

I hope we have the ability to delete, but I wonder if a sysop deletes a post does it eventually get removed from other boards? I can't imagine it does. I know its still on my board but marked deleted.

    take care.

It doesn't. Once it gets sent out, it doesn't get deleted from the other boards.
